CyberSisters - Inch by Inch Challenge for February!

Hey ladies! You know who you are! Calling all CyberSisters on over to the Kitchen Table to discuss our goals for February. This month is the second month for some; others of us have been around longer. Before we set our goals, let’s discuss what we learned last month. By assessing last month’s hits and misses, we can continue with the successes and prevent the mistakes. (Or at least try really hard to!) Last month I learned that when stressed I do not drink water like I should. I have no idea why, but I know that I have dropped to about 2 litres a day and need to raise that by one full litre in February. I also discovered that when I talk more than a day off of exercise it is seriously hard to start back up. I also tend to skimp on protein unless I really concentrate on it. On the positive side, I also learned that I no longer eat emotionally. I had a horrible amount of stress in January and I still stuck pretty close to my clean eating plan. That is a huge victory for me! I’m starting to be able to eat the same things over and over, which I never really did before. I’m seeing food as fuel instead of a warm cozy blanket now. In February, for me, it’s not all about the inches or the pounds; it’s about tweaking my habits until I have corrected the weak points. I am going to come up with strategies to increase my water and protein, and I am going to keep in a routine for working out. When you look back over January, what do you see as your strengths and weaknesses?

Hi daisy!! Great goals and i think you handled the stress amazing! Okay last month..hits*giving up coffee for green tea*starting my workout plan-loving being back to weights*starting couch to a 5k program*reporting to forum everyday-love my cybersisters!!*taking my cooler and water bottle everywhere*planning meals in the morning-even if there are changes it's working for me*learning from mistakes. improvements*I can't let slack of sleep make me eat bad*make sure i have a plan*focus on the inches-not scale this month* So my focus this month..tasting food, slowing down ..try to not get on that stupid contraption(scale) that controls my emotions for a month. That will be hard!I will post my measurements on Sunday.Fresh for feb. ..increase the weights,i am going o stick with the upper and lower body programs i have ,for 1 more month.2 upper and 3 lower workouts a week. ..Cardio..3 times a week run/walk program.I need to get in 2 walks a well.it's also nice to get outside. ..Continue to try new food and menus. Not get stuck in the same old ruts.Plan these out and shop ahead. ..I want to keep reminding myself(and I know you girls will remind me)that this is baby steps.I am always learning. I am looking so forward to February with you ladies. We can do this and we will have a great month. ..

YAY Tan! You are just awesome - such dedication. I truly see lifelong changes being made in you! I can't wait for stupid January to end this year! It has royally sucked for me! Looking forward to February.
  • From: verucasalt about 7 months ago

Whooohooo first celebration...finding this post!!! My hits for January: getting up in the morning for exercise (huge), giving up the diet coke for good, not having any meals where I ran to fast food because I didn't plan, and trying one new clean recipe a week. Misses: waiting too long to eat in the afternoon which triggers major cravings for me and discovering I still really crave chocolate...like a lot of craving for chocolate. argh... I'm so glad I found you all over here. I really need the support from this group!
  • From: verucasalt about 7 months ago

Hmmmm... I think I am missing people from the challenge now...I'm so confused. This reminds me of that great business book "Who moved my cheese?" which dealt with change. SOMEONE IS MOVING MY CHEESE!!! = )
  • From: Daisygirl about 7 months ago

YAY Veruca's here! I will have to look for that book - I am not so good with change. I am wildly impressed by you getting up at that obscene hour to work out. It totally shows your dedication. I had a chocolate craving tonight. I am losing it over my pms this month! I had a couple of pieces of chocolate from a box left over from Christmas. Alarmingly they still tasted quite fresh. However, it did take away the urge to drive to DQ. so I shall claim it as a victory.
  • From: tanmarlew about 7 months ago

yeah veruca!! this is going to work.I NEED you girls too!! Now we need the rest of the girls!! i have to go pick up my hubby!! I'll be back and I FINALLY dyed my hair!! CHEESE.. do i smell cheese..Veruca you make me laugh!!
  • From: Farmgir1 about 7 months ago

I don't have time to post but can I join the challenge? I'll check back on later or in the a.m. Fill me in.
  • From: jaclynjune about 7 months ago

Hi ladies! Veruca - ha! who moved my cheese. I haven't thought about that book in ages... Glad we all found each other on here - hope it is as user-friendly as our forums! I did really really well this month - better than I have ever done - and I think it's because I found all of you! You really helped me hold myself accountable. 1.) I cut the honey intake by at least half. I can now eat oatmeal without added sweetener. Next up - dried fruit with sugar - I need to find some dried cherries (if I can) that do not have added sugar. In the meantime, hello frozen cherries and berries! 2.) I did menu planning and grocery shopping each week this month, and stayed on schedule. Granted, some nights we had crispy chicken nuggets when we were supposed to have salmon patties, but it was all clean! The treats and cheats stayed limited to the weekends when we do brunch Saturday morning and dinner out either Friday or Saturday night. Up next - wrangling my weekend under control and working on eating on schedule Sat/Sun just as I do during the week. Otherwise, hello 3 Musketeers bar in Home Depot - blech! 3. I have been pretty good about hitting the gym in the AM, but if I didn't, I sucked it up and went in the PM. The hectic chaos in the PM is a constant motivator to get my butt out of bed in the morning - and I feel so much better all day when it starts with some self-butt kicking! 4. I weigh in Friday - so we'll see if those 5 pounds budged! Next month, I am focused on inches. It's almost time to buy Spring/Summer clothes and I threw all my "fat" nice weather clothes out in October. It's do or die! 5. I've been better at not letting the bf be a saboteur, but there are still times I want to wring his neck. Good news - he picked up my ECD for Men two weeks ago and has been doing lifting and running! It's a start! Ok, sorry for the novel here - not sure when I can get on again - let's rock February cybersisters!!!

Hello! So are we going to post over here all the time? Or do both sites? I am struggling this week to keep my snacking 'clean'...... For feb, i want to increase my workouts to 6x a week (4 hockey, 2 weights) and also drink more water, and do more 'healthy' baking for snacks and lunches. I am looking forward to taking my measurements in a couple weeks, as the scale isnt going anywhere!! :)
  • From: Lisa~sunshine about 7 months ago

HI Ladies.. I'm so excited that I found you all.. it took me a bit to add some as friends since my add friends button is covered somewhat.. not sure if it's that way for others too.. I will say that commenting on everyones posts is so much quicker.. I do like how the menu is set out but I'm not sure if I have to create a new one each day or what.. not sure there.. Well for Feb.. Let see.. my strengths this month were losing that scale and ticker.. it helps with my stress and motivation which I really think help with my weightloss as well.. I'm also loving the fitday program which allows me to add in my meals and get my ratios for carbs/fats/protein.. upping my protein is helping me a lot too.. My weakness for this month were sticking to a exercise program.. especiall weights.. I did okay with cardio but I need to get my strength program going better in Feb.. also eating my meals spaced out and on time.. I'm finding I do well in the morning but then I mess up and become to over hungry.. I have my meals prepared pretty much but I just get so busy and forget.. I'm going to really work on this one.. Also getting in more water.. and in the morning too.. I already wake up all night long to go potty.. I'm just going to really consentrate on eating clean.. I can't wait for Jan to be over.. I did learn a lot but I'm ready for a fresh new challenge.. I love the support I get from my cybersisters.. you all are so amazing and so helpfull.. I'm so happy to be going through this clean eating lifestyle with you all..

Hi everyone.I read something I thought I should share. it takes your body a year to create new healthy organs, isn't that amazing!! The body has to undo all the damage we have created over the years. Can you imagine what are poor bodies look like on the inside? Correcting the areas that are dysfunctional will cause a chain reaction until the body works as it should.I think that's why some of us are stuck-scale wise. We are doing this right and our bodies are using the time to repair. We are not doing some dramatic stupid diet.We will see results,it just will take us a bit longer!! >>Welcome farmgirl..Just let us know what your goals are and what you want to accomplish for Feb.>>jaclyn..that's great that your man is going to do it with you..It helps>>Yk I too am struggling this week,it because i have indulges in a bit too much sugar. Then it's little voice gets stronger.Bugger on Sugar!!!>>lisa..I am ready for the challenge of feb..bring it on>>Kathy..It's great to have a goal..and your daughter getting married in mexico..oh the hot weather..I can't wait for summer guys..even spring...give me spring!!!Chow for now!!

yeah WLM..can't wait to here from you!!
  • From: skbenny about 7 months ago

Hello ladies! Glad to have found you all here. Welcome Farmgirl! January has been a really great month for me. I think that I was just really ready for a change - enough was enough - so I have had very few challenges eating clean. I have had two planned cheats and no unplanned ones. I have not had Starbucks since Dec 31 (I love no-fat chai tea lattes but too much sugar). I have only had alcohol (beer is my weakness!) twice this month and both times were planned (don't worry - I don't have a drinking problem but I was having 2-3 drinks every Fri/Sat and maybe Sun evenings). I have resisted goodies that are in the house (something I always said I couldn't do). I've been pretty good with my water intake. I am lucky that I have never been a pop or coffee drinker. I have been journalling and posting in the challenge section every day which has helped me stay motivated and accountable. I started taking Nia, continuing with yoga and getting out for power walks a couple of times a week. I have been trying one new clean dinner recipe each week. Goals for February: Continue on everything mentioned above Increase activity Make sure I'm getting enough water Increase my consumption of supplements/vitamins/minerals etc. I'm also thinking about making an appt with a Naturopath just to see what kind of deficiencies I might be able to work on. Love you guys XO Sara

Why are there no paragraphs? I had the post all spaced out but lost it when I posted it. Guess I'll ask the admins
  • From: verucasalt about 7 months ago

Oh the paragraphing thing is killing me! Shhhhh don't tell my district, but I'm able to be on this site despite it is a forum. Usually they block them all, so I couldn't get on the old forum. Until they figure it out at the district office, I'm not saying anything around work! bwhahahaha So I wanted to think about my February goals overnight. Something Daisy mentioned in response to Lisa sunk in ~ insanity doing the same things and expecting different results. For Feb. 1) focus on inches, not weight 2) get serious about working out 3) tighten up the eating clean...I know some of my recipes weren't the cleanest. >>> Tan ~ that is the most horrifying thought that it takes a year. So I guess that means we should still be expecting some reactions from our bodies getting rid of junk. >>>Jaclynjune ~ brilliant idea throwing out the hot weather "fat" clothes. You inspired me to go through my closest over Spring Break. >>>Lisa ~ the potty all night cracked me up. I noticed my cats weren't sleeping with me as much recently. I suspect it is because I get up all the stinking time to pee.
  • From: tanmarlew about 7 months ago

You guys are always just what i need. A great laugh..some of the things everyone says cracks me up.veruca that's why i incorporated the >>>thing too! It works.I got word back from the site they are taking everything into consideration and making changes in March. So i will post inch by inch but,my main tracking page will stay there. i hate not having bookmarks here I don't have the time to keep looking to see if anyone else is on here. But the lady(I can't remember her name) she said she noticed the same thing so i am hoping that some things will change for the better.Until then it's cool to see pictures.
  • From: CarlaCosta76 about 7 months ago

Hello ladies, Greetings from The Netherlands! I am so glad I found you guys. I have been eating clean for a while now. But only structurally since I found Tosca's book. I am keen on dropping my body fat to 15% and keep it that way throughout the year. I am still a few percentages away from it :-)) I have learnt this last time that I crave sugars each time I miss a meal or had too little protein. I also become a sugar monster when I am PMS. Unbelievable. I can't get away from it. So what I do these days, I get sweet apples, slice them into pieces, pour some cinnamon and honey on them and that keeps me from attacking the chocolate. I have also discovered that eating without additives and dairy products has done wonders to my skin. I swear I am 33 and I have suffered from acne from my teenage years. Now it is gone and I finally have the sink I have always wanted. I would like to learn so much more and of course pass on any advise. greets, Carla
  • From: Cole about 7 months ago

hi girls! so I am completely new to the site and have barely completed a month of eating clean. I have already found some of my weaknesses. like many, I dont get enough water. If I am not trying to on a given day I would be lucky to drink half of what I am supposed to. Also on weekends I stay up a little later and hang with friends more often and have a very hard time resisting the temptation of joining them on late night pizza and fries. So my goals for feb are to drink more water and resist late night junk food and in return not lose wait but get my body fat from 22% to 18%. Does anyone have any suggestions on the late night snacking? I dont want to give up that time with my friends but it can be tourcher sometimes to not give in to temptations. I already have once last weekend.... I ate a double fudge brownie and chased it with cheeze-its and a few oreos! THAT WAS REALLY BAD!
  • From: lynnronn about 7 months ago

hi all and thanks Daisy for the invite. I just posted my Jan. goals but I have had them all month. I continue to work on those to eat conscienctiously, slower and better. and before i eat anything i am going to ask myself if this will do my body any good. i like the new recipe a week idea too and have been trying some. i gues two goals for feb. to add to the ones from jan I have yet to perfect would be to get moving more! and to get that fiber in and to keep on working on getting that protein in. Cole why not be prepared, take some snack foods with you to the late night get togethers. also try not to sit near the food, turn your seat so you can't even see it, if that is possible... good luck... don't beat yourself up.. let it go and keep trying.
  • From: ACash about 7 months ago

Hi guys! Sorry that I have missed you for a couple of days. At least I was able to find you. I have/am down with something. Anyway I will be back on hopefully this weekend to catch up. Take care all.
  • From: CarlaCosta76 about 7 months ago

Hey Cole, Are you guys meeting at a restaurant or at someone's house? if you are at someone's house you can always offer to bring in healthy snacks (loads of fun stuff on Tosca's books" that way you stay on track and help your friends (Without them knowing ;-)) keep their weight in check (a little bit). If you are at a restaurant, I'd say, order something else for you. At times like this you need your discipline. I am afraid it is all about being disciplined in situations like that. Otherwise have a piece (dont stuff yourself;-)) and then just go back to your eat clean. Make sure you do not do this all the time! otherwise you will be wasting your good efforts. Greets
  • From: Darci about 7 months ago

Hi Everyone, What a great site. I started to eat clean one week ago and I did write down everything that I ate and drank. Now I have a great starting point. February goals are to eat 5-6 small meals a day and remove anti-foods (my weakness is regular potato chips). Darci
  • From: Cole about 7 months ago

yeah usually it is at someones house after going to a movie or something. It seems to be the way my friends wind down their night. Bringing a snack is a very good idea, a healthy snack i can disguise as the junky stuff is even better! The weekend is here! i will let you know how i do this time around! Thank you Carla!
  • From: skbenny about 7 months ago

Good morning ladies!//Stepped on the scale this morning and am happy to report that in four weeks of eating clean I have lost 12.4 pounds! Yippee!!!//Still getting used to the format over here. Having trouble with the site being slow and all the jumping around. Hopefully those issues will get dealt with over the next couple of months.//So, any weekend goals? I will plan for one cheat, probably tomorrow night but will stay on program 100% otherwise. I will get out for at least one power walk. I will drink all my water.//TGIF! XO Sara

Hello to all the new folks! >>>Sara that is an awesome achievement!! >>> ACash glad to see you. I'm still adjusting to the new site also. I'll probably keep tracking on the old and post in challenges here. >>>Cole definitely pack snacks. It helps a lot. >>>So, today for my prebirthday day, some of my students brought chocolate covered strawberries. They know I've been trying to eat healthy and that was the healthiest birthday treat they decided. I had three of them. Yikes. But, I work so hard to build a rapport with some of my kiddos, it was worth it. Now birthday tomorrow, I am not doing anything with family! lol the stress of grandma Dorothy would make me eat half a cake.
  • From: skbenny about 7 months ago

Veruca - happy day before your birthday! My DH's birthday is today - he said he didn't want a cake (yeay!) but maybe chocolate covered strawberries would be a good substitute. The kids are expecting something sweet! //Tan - those bad days just help us remember why we're on this journey, right? Sounds like a great learning opportunity to me : )//I just spent a couple of hours moving all my journal entries over here. It took forever but I really want to have everything in one place and I like to look back and get some ideas from past entries. I bet some of you are shaking your heads at me right now!!! Have a great day! Sara
  • From: lynnronn about 7 months ago

happy birthdya veruca and i think 3 birthday strawberries is a great choice. enjoy your day and don't whip yourself. have fun and just make compromises where you can to stick as close as you can the clean eating lifestyle
  • From: Daisygirl about 7 months ago

Sorry I haven't been around ladies. I've had some major personal issues going on. They are still going on but I have a handle on it and feel like I can cope now. On the bright side, I didn't binge eat the past couple of days, I just didn't really eat. Today, after 12 hours of sleep, I woke up really hungry, so that is good.>>>>>Warm welcome to all of our newbies. We'll be posting stories all month with Cybersisters in the title, and as well, if you decide to post your own story for us, please use "cybersisters" as the tag and post it under "Challenges". We are glad to have you join us.>>>>Sara - congrats girl - you are ROCKING this clean eating!>>>>Veruca - happy birthday! I think the birthday strawberries are wonderful, and how sweet of your class to make you the healthiest thing they could come up with. I'm with you about "celebrating" with extended family. Only if it comes with a side of Valium and a bottle of tequila for me, thanks.>>>Sara - where did you put your journal on here?>>>>Have a great day everyone, and look for a new Cybersisters question tomorrow.>>>Daisy

Hi Ladies! I'm to this forum and the Eating Clean Principals. Started getting with the eating program 1/18/10. I'm a 30 something yr old stuck in an out of shape 51 yr old body :-). Have had a weight issue most of my life with the exception of the ages 16-28. Had my 1st baby @ 29. At my worst in 9/08, I weighed 247 lbs...SHOCKING! When I started the program 1/18/10 I had accomplished getting down to 191 and had been teetering between 191-196 for about 4-5 mos. Picked up Oxygen's fat burning special issue hoping to discover a secret to breaking my platuea and discoved this amazing way of life. Was eating well up to this point, but had not given up the sugar and preservatives in "packaged" foods. Had been following a weight lifting program and seen progress, but fell off the wagon last October. Now I'm geared up once again. Not really having an issue with the eating portion of recreating my lifestyle, I've been really good about packing my cooler and eating my 5-6 meals each day, it's getting an excercise program started and staying with it. Have all the equipment in my basement I need...hoping to join you ladies for the February challenge. Currently, my body fat is @ 39%!!! HOLY COW! Hips currently 41.5", Waist 37", Neck 15.25. Have not yet measured the other body parts, but plan to this weekend. Thus far, just with making the dietary changes and incorporating 3 days of 20 minutes on the eliptical, I've managed to drop 4 lbs and am not in the 180's!! I can't wait to get more of the excersize in. Hubby and I are going to Jamaica the last week of April to Couples Negril and I want to look absolutely amazing on the beach :-) I LOVE EATING CLEAN!!
  • From: AGldnGrl about 7 months ago

    I meant I am NOW in the 180's!! :-)
  • From: jaclynjune about 7 months ago

Sara congrats! Veruca - happy birthday!!! Welcome newcomers! February is going to be GREAT!!!!!!
  • From: Darci about 7 months ago

Hello Everyone~I am a closet Eat Clean Diet person and exerciser. Family and friends put down the way I eat and exercise and also give me a hard time about going to bed "early." The only meat I eat are fish and egg whites (only for their protein) and I get a lot of put-downs from people because I do not eat any other types of meat. Also, I do not have any white sugar or white flour in my house and when people come to visit me they think I am so strange (and will tell me so) because I limit those products to the best of my abilities. I am also told that exercise is bad for you and that women having muscles is gross. Thus, I am very thrilled to have found this community where I have a place to chat with like minded people who enjoy healthy eating and exercise! I am adding one more goal to my February challenge and that is to cut my wine beverage in 1/2. Red wine is my final weakness BUT I know it is a change I can do if I choose! Have a great day everyone ;)

I am so happy to have this board. This is great. And I can't find my add friend button so help! For February my goals are to stick to my 5 day a week work out. I run a minimum of 3 miles a day and have added in my free weight program from Jackie Warner . I got it from the Fitness RX magazine. I am continueing to try new recipes weekly, pack my foods for work and any travels. I do notice I need to work on having a balance of protein with each meal. Gotta get in all that water and have added fresh teas to my diet. NO added sweeteners. Anyone ever gone to Teavana? It is a store but they also have a website. check it out. ANother thing for me is to keep strong w/ that bedtime snack. It can become an ugly habit. I will continue to post and am starting a journal at home of my workouts . Something I can look back at and see how I am doing and all. I am sure there is more but gotta stop rambling on. Have a good day girls. Keep it clean !!!
  • From: verucasalt about 7 months ago

Welcome to the newbies!!! We are glad to have you come on board. Darci ~ The other people can be the biggest critics in our lives (trust me I know). It can be hard to ignore them, but hang in there. You will have a lot of support here. >>>Farmgir1 ~ I'm going to check out teavana. I love finding new teas. >>>Getting ready to take official February measurements tomorrow! I'm weighing myself only two times in Feb. Once at the start and once at the end. That way I won't get frustrated in the middle.
  • From: Daisygirl about 7 months ago

Gldngrl ~ I think you are going to look great on the beach by April. I can't wait to be in the 180s - I am planning to get there in FebruaryQ Look out beach, here you come!........Darci ~ People don't always understand our lifestyle. I find it amazing that family members can both criticize me for being overweight and criticize what I am doing to change it. Sometimes I think people are jealous of the willpower and mental strength it takes to live the lifestyle you do.........Farmgirl ~ I'm glad to see you here. The button is found on the person's profile, just under their picture. It says "Add Friends." It took me a few minutes to find it too.......Veruca ~ That is a great idea about just weighing at the beginning and at the end. I don't think I can do it! I only weigh once a week officially, but I am always hopping on the scale "just to check". Love your picture!
  • From: kritney about 7 months ago

Hi ladies!..I'm finally trying to find my way around this table! I spent the month of January moving across town, a little each weekend so basically I think I'm gonna have to write January off and focus on February now that I'm nearly done moving. My goals are simply to get more consistent. I want to get some kind of workout in at least 5 days a week and really tighten up my eating. One of my biggest challenges in the winter is drinking all of my water so I'm gonna try to push that as well until it becomes a habit. Gonna try to figure out the friend thing now and maybe update my profile. Maybe I should just change my February goal to mastering this new forum - hehe!
  • From: jaclynjune about 7 months ago

February Goals ("official"): 1. Be consistent with my workouts - to ensure I'm ready for my 8K in March, and so the bikini comes off my fridge and fits on ME this summer! :) 2. Cut down on the milk and starchy carb servings per day - one glass of milk a day, and starchy carbs early in the day (oatmeal at bkfast and a wrap at lunch). 3. Once again, one of my biggest obstacles is failing when I fail to plan, so I need to plan ahead or plan to fail! 4. Keep working on the sugar intake, in all its forms - honey, agave, dried fruit - it all has to go! 5. More veggies - I can always eat more of these! OKAY Ladies - let's ROCK FEBRUARY!!! I'll check in tomorrow with my beginning of the month measurements - Veruca I think you have the right idea measuring at the beginning and end of the month - I'm so excited to keep going with all of you!!!
  • From: Daisygirl about 7 months ago

Kritney - sounds like a very good plan. I didn't have the best January either and am THRILLED it is over. I'm with you on the water intake!..........Jacklynjune, starchy carbs are probably the reason my results have slowed down too. .......I am so excited for February. I am all about this new month! It's time to kick up the workouts and spend more time on being successful at this.

Hi guys i haven't been around much..I will have to write a chapter tomorrow!! haha. So I had 2 bad days(wens and Thurs)normally this kind of thing can send me into a tail spin.So i made some notes.Surprise.LOL>>>What did i learn from my crappy days.>>The cheats weren't worth it.I didn't enjoy them and i felt so guilty. Not like this month when I plan them and enjoy them. SO, If i am going to cheat I want to enjoy the darn things!!!!>>>That the 2 days are not the end of the world, forgive myself and move forward. I AM making progress!!>>High stress days are when I need protein the most and do not skip meals.>>>If I am stressed and I am going to cheat sit down and enjoy the darn thing...don't inhale it.>>>If Josh doesn't eat his donut THROW it out don't leave it on the counter..who is really going to eat the donut..me.>>>When Josh is sick make some meals and put out snacks.this way I don't have to think..because that doesn't happen>>>I know what to do the next day now..no sugar at all..high protein..get the sugar balance back.>>>I FEEL stronger and more in control this time.I know i can bounce back and it didn't ruin everything(I would have said this before)So that's a little chapter from the book of Tanya!! I have a good feeling about feb.And my weigh in is 158.Now I am going to do my darned best not to step on the scale for 4 weeks girls. That is going to be mega hard. But,I gave up sugar, coffee and I know I can do it.See you tomorrow!!

Challenge, count me in. I had a tough January and this is just what I need.First a week in Cuba then a week long family reunion with far to much food and not enough exercise...so I'm ready to crack the whip and get back on track. But it's already late here so I'll be back tomorrow to catch up.
  • From: Daisygirl about 7 months ago

Tanya ~ Way to go - you have totally cleared your mind of your old negative thinking! I'm really glad to hear that. Journalling really helps - that is my biggest difference this time around. Danica ~ Welcome! How as Cuba? The reunion? You are such a jet-setter! We are all posting goals for February on this thread. Let's hear it, girl!
  • From: Farmgir1 about 7 months ago

Tan-way to go on dealing w/ the stress.~Danica I hear ya on getting back on track. ~Daisygirl I am so glad you started this. I love it and I think it really helps us all. ~Today is February 1st. lets not beat ourselves up on mistakes lets take control and roll with this. Unfortunately for me the scale went up last week and my body has been feeling a bit out of wack. Why you wonder? Well, I think I ate some bread / carb products .This obviously didn't work well for my body. Even whole grain. ANd not a good choice for someone who gets easily constipated. But, that isn't happening here again and no sugar. Today I have off and will be making a big egg and veggie fritata for work this week and a big pot of soup and perhaps some protein / oat bars. These you have to watch because the calories can add up. I have a recipe from Ellie Krieger and I think Toscas book has one. Anyway , I will plaln out my food and stay on track. Also, getting in my work out for 5 days a week. Treadmill and weights. I am going to be running some local races this spring and summer also. Today my back is sore so I have to watch that but I am sure it will pass. So ladies lets take on February ! Let's rock n roll. *** Did I mention that I am going skiing February 14th for a week ? We do ski all day and I do have a full gym there if the skiing didn't wear me out enough. I will be packing some foods to take and will try to watch everything else. Somehow last year I did it and actually lost a lb or 2. But I don't want to get too comfy and let it all slide. I CAN DO THIS!!!!! ANd so can YOU!!

Hi Daisygirl and Farmgirl1.I'm no jetsetter by any means Cuba was the first winter get away in about 10 years so it was nice, even though the weather was cold.Havana was gorgeous. The reunion/anniversary was nice, just got home friday night,so it's great to be home in my own bed and back to the routine of clean eating and exercise.Started clean this month with oatmeal this morning and a good WO last night. Last month learned I enjoyed going to a public gym...I do my WO at home usually. My motivation seems greater I find by being around others,I didn't think of myself as competitive. This month the whole family is joining me to loose the extra we gained last month.
  • From: Darci about 7 months ago

This is a great group! I love all of the positive energy and motivation that I receive when reading everyone else's story. This morning I tried a step class at my gym (just for fun) and enjoyed it. I agree with Danica~my motivation at the gym is much greater since I am around other people that are working out. For the days that I am too lazy to drive to the gym, I do have equipment and an designated exercise area at my house...so I always have an excuse to WO! I am staying on track today for eating clean but I will be going out to eat for supper tonight. My goal is to choose a smaller portion and healthier meal than I normally order. This is a challenge since we are heading out to my favorite restaurant.
  • From: Daisygirl about 7 months ago

Danica ~ it is so nice when you can get the entire faimly on board. It sounds like you're off to a great start!.........Darci ~ I can't wait to be able to join a gym - some financial constraints right now - but I LOVE group fitness classes! Going out to eat is abig challenge. I usually try to get one thing that is a bit of a splurge and keep everything else clean. Good luck, and if it doesn't work (being good ) I know you will be right back on track for your next meal.......I feel good today - I did a much harder workout than I have been doing and I have eaten really well today. Clean as a whistle!

It's February!!! Finally!!! That means only 4 more months of winter here in Chicago LOL. Well, I tried bee pollen in my oatmeal for the first time today - and almost had to vomit. Kudos to Tosca and anyone else that can get that stuff down - BLECH! It smelled like hay, and tasted like something I imagine a cow or horse would eat. Nutritional value be darned, there's only so many sacrifices a girl can make - choking down my beloved morning oatmeal while having to control my gag reflex is too much! >>>It totally blew my morning though - I worked out hard this morning, and it was stressful at work from the minute I got to my desk, and I didn't have anything else for breakfast, so I found myself at Dunkin Donuts at 10 this morning for a multigrain bagel with reduced fat cream cheese. BAD! I was so excited to start this month off right, but if I didn't get something in me ASAP I was going to pass out. :D >>Ok, enough of a pity party - the rest of my day has gone well...I measured myself this morning. I have a lot of work to do ladies, if I'm getting in that bikini come July! So glad to see everyone here - Danica I'm so jealous - I'd kill to be in warm weather right about now - and even cold Havana would trump Chicago in winter!! :) I really admire all you ladies who w/o at home - I could never do it! Good luck in February to us all!

jaclynjune-I live in one of the coldest parts of Canada otherwise that's why Cold Cuba was great.I woke up to -25c this morning.
  • From: Daisygirl about 7 months ago

Jaclynjune, I nearly fell of the couch laughing my butt off at your bee pollen story. Still laughing just thinking about it - you can sure paint a picture!!! After that experience you can certainly be forgiven for having a bagel. Can't have you passing out at work................Danica - where are you in Canada? I'm in Ontario and freezing my bum off and I know there are lots of colder places than where I am....Brrr... winter is NOT doing it for me ladies. Not at all! I wanna play outside!
  • From: danica about 7 months ago

    Daisygirl- WINTERPEG..LOL
  • From: danica about 7 months ago

But I plan on moving to Ontario come summer....though the price of homes out there is scarier than the -25 nights.

Hi guys! Welcome newbie's! I guess that I am behind the power curve and have some catching up to do. Ok what went right in Jan: I gave up sugar and processed flour. Started shopping around the outside of the supermarket only going in the middle when I had to and that has been mainly for oatmeal. I started leaving work on time and working out four days a week. I hired a personal trainer. I qualified to test for my red belt in Tae Kwon Do tomorrow. Saving the best for last: I found my Cyber sisters. February goals: Try to workout five to six days a week and introduce more cardio. My trainer wants me to up it because in addition to working my entire body we have a special project of trying to build me a "shelf" aka butt. Right now I have no A*! Try to give up coffee. I gave up sugar in my coffee but green tea is not "cranking my tractor" so I don't know about giving up the brew right now. It might be dangerous to those I work with. Try to cut back on dairy. Drop one percent body fat. Sorry I haven't been more active I have been out sick with something and trying to find my way around on this new deal. It is great to find everyone again and get things started back up. I will try to be a little more thorough now that I am back in the saddle again.
  • From: tanmarlew about 7 months ago

Hi guys..Acash..build yourself that a** girl.LOL.Oh my gosh..that is fabulous!!Okay you are amazing, you hired a personal trainer..go Acash and good luck tomorrow with your red belt.Keep us posted!!!! It's the little things bit by bit..inch by inch..as daisy put it!! I love it that i found my cybersisters too!!>>>danica..I am from northern BC I know all about the cold..it sucks..cool about Cuba..I am wanting to go there more and more.I's love to go to the gym..sigh..maybe next year..what are your goals for Feb?>>>>jaclyn..oh my gosh I agree with daisy..you have a way with words and I TOTALLY agree about bee polleen..only I would use stronger words.Good for your on those workouts..bikini here you come!!!!And I am learning enjoy the bagel. It's better that way and then get back on track>>>Yeah daisy!!! on that workout!!!! And I'm gald your back girl i missed you even though it was only a couple of lonely days..I always need your wisdom.>>>>Darci..step classes..great for the legs..yahoo!! and we all have resturant challenges it's just thinking about it.>>>>Farmgirl..Good for you on the workouts and the races this spring and summer..have your always ran? I agree about the wheat and carbs they just set the craving in for me.I LOVE fritatas..Super Yummy!!!>>>Kritney my advice break your goals down smaller when I started someone at the forum told me that( I think it was daisy)and it worked way better!!Just am idea>and feb is a new month!!>>>Veruca..I tried pomegranete raspberry green tea..Love it..you would be so proud of this tea drinker now.>>> darci..I LOVE red wine..pinor noir..is my favorite right now.And I am just figuring out this... you have to do what is best for you.My friends don't think muscle is too cool either(they like skinny size zero)but, i think it's sexy and at this point i want MYSELF to feel good.So join us and enjoy the journey here.Because honestly I have come so far in one month with these amazing people on here!!!>>>>AGrl..(I shorten everything)baby steps..and I love Oxygen and great job on those measurements..one thing us girls learned last month ..the scale sucks..put your focus on those inches!!!Sk..i think the move was smart I think they are going to listen to us and make the changes..esp..about paragraphs.LOL.How is is going?Oh shoot my little mans up i was hoping to get everyone. But, i will meet everyone and try to talk the next couple of days.Chow bellas(my latino girlfriends say that all the time and they sound so hot..it doesn't sound the same way when i SAY it..but,I can type it.LOL)
  • From: Darci about 7 months ago

All of you have put a smile on my face first thing in the morning! Does anyone use fat burners? I have been debating on trying them but I want to make sure what I put in my body is safe, I did good at the restaurant...I only ate 1/3 of my meal (and I usually finish the whole thing) but I did have 2 glasses of red wine. I feel so guilty about the wine. Daisygirl~I took a chance and joined a gym...but I had to figure out how I would pay for the gym so I cut back on going out to eat and stopped buying 'crap' food at the grocery store. I am lucky because the gym I go to has some amazing instructors...and 90% of their classes are included in the gym membership!
  • From: verucasalt about 7 months ago

Ohhh, I have been avoiding catching up over here mainly because of the paragraphs...drives an English teacher batty. >>>Oh the bee pollen. Now I know I'm going to put off trying that for a little bit longer. I was laughing reading the descriptions. Definitely not advertisement worthy. lol >>> -25 reminds me of why I was glad to leave Fairbanks, Alaska. Put up with 7 Alaskan winters...don't miss the bitter cold or the darkness. >>>Took my official February measurements...and without working out consistently I was able to lose an inch off my hips. Yay!! Very encouraging for this month. It is giving me something to hold onto in my stress week (this week). Helping to move the dyfunctional grandparents into a retirement facility. Packing my snacks...so when said dysfunctional grandma starts in on me, I eat veggies and not onion rings. >>>Have a great day everyone!!!
  • From: Farmgir1 about 7 months ago

Good morning girls- Well, got my run in this morning. Yesterday food was good. I am disappointed with myself because the scale has been up. But, I decided to read back and check my journal and think about what was different. Foods were good but I was sneaking a little something here and there and was having that M6 snack and ya know you can't let yourself fall into that night snack routine. So anyways it's a new month and I am completely ditching that sugar. It is evil!!!!! I have packed my fritata for breakfast, grapes and protein bar for snack, fresh soup I made for lunch ground turkey w/ stewed tomatoes and orzo, greek yogurt for afternoon snack, dinner is beef stroganoff. I made some fresh black chai tea last night and put in fride so today brought nice iced tea w/ lemon and some sugar in the raw. It feels like a treat since I only drink water. Anyways feeling good about determing my evil downfall and am hoping that the scale goes back down and things are back on track. I should have known because things didn't feel right. You know you always feel better in the a.m without that snack in your belly all night. So, moving on....... look out bikini weather.
  • From: tanmarlew about 7 months ago

Darci..I don't feel guilty about wine, but I never go over 2 glasses it's too hard on the liver.I also drink 4 glasses of water then.2 for every glass.Good for you on the gym!!!>>>>veruca..the paragraph thing drives everyone nuts.lol.Congrats on the inch off the hips..me too!!! Don't let grandma get you down...what a weird statement!!LOL! Great idea on the snacks..duct tape on Grandma's mouth might be good..oh wait your around other people.Might not be a good idea.>>>Farmgirl..it's good you went back to figure it out. It's funny how just something different can change everything.Have a great day ladies!!

I behaved fairly well yesterday until supper rolled around,I planned on having my usual salad while the rest of the family had spaghetti....well I caved and had a bit- about 1 1/2 cup...it was yummy but I was feeling guilty about it later.Today has been clean so far.I have my dinner planned so no chance to stray. No chance to exercise yesterday,DH's gout flared up so I babied him.Tonight WO for sure.I think for inspiration I'll take measurements . Tamralew-Chow bella-I love it.....Verucasalt-can I put my DM in the dysfunctional category.

Hey girls, some of us have got Dysfunction Junction for the family homestead. At least I'm not alone! My grandma was a lovely sweet lady but it kinda makes me wonder where my mom came from...........Today has really not gone as planned in any way, shape or form. Why oh why can't I get on track and stay on track for more than half a day? Or even half a day for that matter. I am wildly unimpressed with myself.......Wildly.
  • From: jaclynjune about 7 months ago

Dysfunction Junction - LOL! And Daisy you are so not alone on the wildly unimpressive front - this month isn't starting the way I planned at ALL. We just submitted our biggest grant of the year today at work, and I think the stress really got to me - I've been chained to my desk since yesterday morning and when I got home last night I just stared blankly at the television until The Boyfriend timidly asked whether we were going to eat dinner or not. We ended up having...(winces) pizza for dinner. Ugh. Trying not to beat myself up about it (I did eat a big salad and only a few little squares of pizza), but I need to get a better grip on my eating if that bikini is ever coming off the fridge! :) >>Danica, sometimes that pasta is just calling your name...and don't ya just love men? Mine is limping around on a gimpy knee right now, but you'd swear from the way he carries on that his leg was broken! :) >>Veruca, the paragraph thing is driving me batty too - and, you're def not alone on the wacky bit*$y grandma front. My dad's mom is pure unadulterated and highly concentrated evil, and evil never dies. :) Have a great night ladies!

Jaclyn you have a way with words..my lord girl you make me laugh. men are grown up babies,I LOVE my hubby but when he is sick.Oh my!Daisy..you are so hard on yourself..you give so much kindness to others..give yourself some to!!Danica I love spaghetti so yummy in my tummy. You might have noticed I go backwards, replying to the last and going up it's just easier that way!!
  • From: Farmgir1 about 7 months ago

I love it! I have never heard that Dysfunction Junction. I will have to use that one. And yes every family has it somewhere along the way. Danica yes sometimes that pasta is calling me. If I am very strong I will eat a small amount w/ salad or I make the whole grain for myself. And so far this month , I know only Feb. 3rd but day by day girls. I am doing ok. I have packed and planned my meals. I thought of eating something last night and told myself to stay strong that I had to report into my February challenge board. ANd you know what it worked! I can't believe it. Today someone mentioned these really yummy cupcakes from a bakery down the road and I just asked myself if it was worth it. NO, today it isn't. So staying clean. Gotta think of that bikini and staying on track for that 6 pack abs!!!!! And I am going to end by saying to you all Chow Bella because it does sound good!

Today went much closer to the plan. Finally!!! I feel better just because eats were under control and exactly what I planned to eat. Whew...............For some reason I am REALLY craving the salty crunchies lately. Just can't fill me up on that stuff! I'm trying to decide what salty crunchy I'm going to have for my meal 6 - it was going to be fruit, but I will eat that fruit and just want salty crunchy after the fruit. SO, girls, I will just cut right to the chase and have my salty crunchies. I'm thinking homemade baked potato chips will do it for me.........I did my HIIT this morning but got kind of distracted and forgot to do some of the "H" part. The upside of that is that I worked out for 5 minutes longer than I had planned....................All these dots are my version of paragraphs..........I got LOTS of writing done today. I've nearly finished an entire article just today. Should finish the rough draft tomorrow and polish and submit by Friday. Someone will eventually take pity on my and publish something. I am quite certain of it........Later ladies! Have a great night!
  • From: Farmgir1 about 6 months ago

Daisygirl every once in while I want something like that. So, I gave in the other day and bought a bag of POP chips BBQ flavor. Not bad. But I had to actually count out and put in a seperate bag or I could have crunched away. Other than that Feb. is going according to plan. Packing cooler daily and have meals prepared for work. Tonight I have a bb game right after work and am not so prepared but thinking of making myself some of those oatmeal banana pancakes or whole grain waffles or something like that. Did get in my workouts so far also but cut it close with time today. I think I am going to set the alarm clock a little earlier to have more time. It's not a good feeling to be rushing in the a.m. Gotta run I am working --- check in later girls.

  • From: Farmgir1 about 6 months ago

Darci - good for ;you. There's lots of things you can make. I don't really watch football I hate to admit. I watch the 1/2 time show. We do watch all the hockey games though. So, the first week of February has gone well. I didn't get the scale completely back down but yes it did move down. So, I am on my way. I did make a food plan and I did follow it. I was prepared. I will do the same thing this week. Exercise also went well. I did really crave something at work though one day and I had a hot cocoa to relieve that. Daisy girl enjoy your winter hike if you can get out this weekend. We are getting ready for our ski trip and I am busy planning my food for this week and for our ski trip. This week is super busy and so it is extra important for me to have the right foods prepped so that I don't get on the wrong track. Have a great weekend.

Hanging in there this week with a really busy week. This seems to be the week for salty munchies. I had some Cheetos on Wednesday. ick. My workouts are on track and eating mostly on track minus the cheetos. I'm trying a bunch of new recipes this week, so will post feedback later. I'm trying endive this week as a new veg. I've never bought them, but they always look appealing because they are so compact and I love their color.
  • From: Farmgir1 about 6 months ago

Thanks Tan. And I also have to do my work out in the a.m. It feels so good to start your day like that. And it's a good feeling to know that the work out is done for the day. ~Veru good for you trying something new. I do plan new recipes weekly. Which is something I love about all this. This week so far I will be making Toscas tomato soup from the kids and family book and I still need to plan out the rest. ANy ideas??? Gotta go and run now , so I will check in later. ANd I hear ya on the salty crunchies. I went for the pop chips this week. I think I will skip them next time. Scale did go down some this week but not quite to my lowest yet. I guess as long as it's moving stick to it. I am sticking w/ the Feb. challenge. Food and exercise and will re-evaluate for March!!!! We can do this.

Hi Ladies! First week has gone well! Have stayed off the scale, completed my workouts and following the plan... is great! Tried a recipe today from Recharged...Lentil & Vegetable Stew! Yummy!! I've never eaten parsnips before...the seasonings in the recipe are perfect, full of flavor! Tried SEVERAL new foods this past week...0% Fat Plain Greek Yogurt, low fat plain Keifer, Quina and bee pollen. Found the bee pollen at a local health food store from a local harvester. It's actually quite good...has a sweet nutty flavor. Was told to start out with only a few granules and work up to 2 tsp., just in case of allergic reaction. Having a hard time giving up my Friday date night drinks with hubby. We meet up after work for dinner and drinks. No problem with the eats out...but giving up my bubbly is a challenge. Found another good recipe for my morning oats..made a big batch and added Steel cut Irish Oats + Kashi 7 grain, cinnamon + allspice and a handfull of dried cranberries. After cooking, added 4 T Wheat Bran & Flaxseed + 2 T. Agave. Made enough for the whole week + some left for my son to eat. He's alot like me, will eat almost anything. Also, a friend told me about a trick for an apple...cut it up and throw it in a bag and shake on cinnamon...supposedly tastes like apple pie! Just attach a lein protein and Viola!! Took my measurements early last week...still need to take my B4 PICS in a 2 pc bathing suite...THAT SCARES ME!! :-) Think I'm gonna up my cardio to 5-6 this coming week like Tosca says in order drop lbs...Will check in again next weekend...Have a CLEAN week!! Let us keep our eyes pointed straight toward our goals and that mental PIC of what we are going to look like, posted right smack in the front of our minds!! GO CYBERSISTERS!! SISTERS IN IRON!!

Welcome Powermom. Of course we have room for you. The more the merrier right!? Daisygirl I am leaving early Sunday morning but since I am off Sunday and Monday I have a lot to do. I work Tues. thru Sat. and have like 4 basketball games this week, family flying in to visit for the weekend for my Uncles 50th birthday party. NOt staying with me but I will be getting together with them. So quite a lot to do. And as we all know for this to work we have to be prepared w/ our meals and workouts. Today going to sign up kids for t-ball and softball, pharmacy, gas, wild by nature and regular store, laundry, cooking etc you all know the drill. But am looking forward to prepping some good food . Love. it. And I have to say that I was feeling down since the scale has been teetering on a few lbs and I ate Panera Bread w/ the kids yesterday! Bad girl. But after signing on here I feel energized to not beat myself up but to take charge and get on w/ my day of exercise and shopping for healthy foods. And yes am bringing my cooler in the car ride for skiing. Packing some fruit and granola bars and we'll see what else. So, I am off and will check in later. Thank you all for your inspiration. You rock!

Welcome Powermom!...Agldngrl - very brave pictures in a two peice! I'm dreading doing photos. I'm going to give the apple thing a whirl and see how it goes...I tried to make the flank steak from CE mag this month. Sigh...I have trouble cooking meat. It was pretty good. I like the spinach rolled up in it. I also tried the arugala, apple, goat cheese thing. That was pretty yummy too. I threw in some toasted pine nuts for extra crunch. Those are my two new recipes this week. Workouts - ummmmm doing 30day shred tonight if I can ever get out of work. Hour 9 and counting...Hope everyone had a great Monday.

Hi Ladies!!! Hope all is going well for you - enjoy your little holiday Farmgir1!!! >>>>>>Veruca, I'm assuming your home is intact after your cooking ;-) I was looking at the apple thing myself, and thinking WALNUTS. We must have the same taste in food!>>>>>>>I had a very busy day today and got lots accomplished. My little one and I were invited out to dinner. I had an appetizer - not the healthiest one on the menu bu far, but just the appetizer and water. Before I would have had the appetizer, a margarita, an entree and possibly dessert. So although I could have chosen something healthier, I felt like the smaller meal was a victory. Have a great day!

Hope everyone had a good week! Didn't quite get in all my workouts..missed Tues & Wedns & Friday..will make up today and tomorrow, but some are better than none and I'm always working to improve. Eats went well again this week. Didn't plan or take cooler Friday and didn't have a whole lot at work as backup, but managed pretty well. No new recipes yet this week, but purchased the Eat Clean Mag everyone was talking about. Tell ya what, there's some exceptional eats in there! Immediately logged on and ordered a subscription + one for Oxygen. Am feeling the difference in my body, pants are looser and stomach getting flatter...skin on belly appears to be smoother...less dimpley. This week, will work on making my excercise a priority and planning better. 2 weeks left of this month's challenge. Wow, where did February go? Happy Valentines Day Ladies!! LOVE YOURSELVES and EAT CLEAN!!!!

Have a great week everyone. Keep on rocking February. I am leaving in the morning and have tried to pack up some foods that I will not freak out about. I packed some granola bars as snack, oatmeal, clementines, tea, etc. I know that I am going on vacation but I just can't let it all go. I will have a treat I am sure but want to try and stick to plan.

Farmgirl ~ Have FUN!!!!>>>>>Powermom and Veruca ~ I zm dying for a Wii fit - it sounds like lots of fun for me and the little monkey! This week went pretty well, kept it nice and clean. My oven died so I am a little bit limited with my cooking, but nothing a little creativity can't overcome! Here's to another great week!

Hey, is it too late to join the Cybersisters? I just found this forum and I need the encouragement and the accountability to stick with eating clean! Hits: I work out like a maniac, not skipping a beat in this category. Misses: I think because I workout like crazy, I can eat whatever I want. Wrong! I am not seeing the results in my body like I want to. Afterall, nutrition is 80% of the formula! My weaknesses are coming home from work, being tired and hungry and making/eating bad food choices. I have got to stop being lazy and start cooking. My husband is a great cook and does most of the cooking but it is not clean. Very tempting to eat what he has made.... I have my last 10 to lose so it's hard to stick with it because I guess I can live with these 10 pounds. I have for the last 5 years! Please help me stay motivated. Any ideas and advice is welcome. Thanks, Teresa

Well not to sure where my brain is or why I go to the extreme it seems to sabotage my progress at times I will eat very clean ,then go the other way after few days so time to take extra responsibility with myself,.I still have a 2 weeks to reach my goal I've given myself 6 weeks so hoping to get closer, I seen the new EC magazine and love the recipes but I am waiting to see if it will come in the mail or not since I order a subscription so keeping my fingers cross it will come in soon. Teresa I am the same been caring the same 10 pounds for the past year and half and sick of it,lol and my hubby cooks the same if If I eat what he makes it is not good choice , I myself am trying to get threw my rough spot of eating wrong foods I have fridge full of veggies n fruits and lean proteins/fish. It also seems I myself am being lazy ,so going back to my crock pot that I was using on days when I know I am rushed, preparing my meat and having it i the freezer for a whole week ahead ,My problem was never the foods I bought since it what describe as EC, it being lazy....so this day is over and looking towards to the end on month...MY GOAL, SORRY LONG WINDED,

  • Missing my workout

Cooler 1 did not get off to a great start today, My son had a doctors appointment and I didn't get to the gym, so that just threw my whole day off.  My day was so busy that I didn't get my 6 meals,  I did only have clean food when I eat, but not exactly as the cooler 1 plan.   I am having a hard time with limiting my fruit to just apples and pears, I am really getting tired of them, and I need something on my veggies, I don't use butter but I do like a little olive or coconut oil.  Now this morning I did eat my oatmeal without any sweetener (I usually use agave) I just seem to need something in it so today I cut up my pear and it did sweeten it up. Tonight for dinner I grilled cod, and I made a pineapple salsa which was completely clean and delicious on my fish but not following cooler 1, I just can't seem to follow the cooler plan exactly, I really want to see results.  Do you think that the few things that I am adding to the plan is a big deal, I am still eating clean it just those few little things,  My problem is that I was such a yo-yo dieter, that my metabolism is so screwed up that I really think doing the cooler 1 will help me to jump start things, but maybe as long as I am keeping my potions in control, eating a lean protein, and a complex carb with all six meals that is all I need to do.  Any Ideas I would love to hear them.

  • So happy again!

i'm so happy again. I have made it through first day of Cooler 1 and it's going great! Not hungry really at all. Well I am right now, but supper's cooking. Plus I did the full video (with a couple breaks) of the P90X yoga. Only to find out that It wasn't supposed to be yoga today LOL so we'll change that up tomorrow... Still getting the hang of it :). I am going to keep with this momentum! I'm so excited.

  • 3rd Annual ECD Challange

Alright, so it begins, well it actually began yesterday.  I am committed to this challenge, to get healthy, lose weight, be fit, and quite frankly just look smoking hot in a bikini!!!   There is a lot of time to do this, and I need to stay on track with motivation and determination.  My boyfriend is standing beside me doing the challenge as well, but on his own and not on the website.   So cheers to the road of hard work! (back fat.... seriously?....gotta get rid of that!!!)

  • To weigh or not to weigh

I've had a rough couple of days as far as clean eating goes. I blame my scale to some extent. On September 1st I weighed 147lbs. I was determined to eat clean and I did. I was so proud of myself for eating so well all week and nudging myself to exercise. I even made it through the Labor Day holiday without losing my focus. Yesterday, I stepped on the scale and saw 142.4 lbs. I couldn't believe it! One week I had lost almost 5 lbs! So......I ate my healthy diet all day yesterday until....dinner. My 20 year old nephew was coming to visit so I stopped to pick up a pizza. I ate 2 slices of pizza and had a small soda (yes, small....just a small amount left in the bottle). This morning I stepped on my scale and the number moved up to 145.2. How is that possible???!!!  I discipline myself for a whole week and lose 5 lbs only to gain 3 back after 2 stinking pieces of pizza??!!  How does weight work like that? So...discouraged isn't a strong enough word for how I felt. I thought, why bother???  I went to a working lunch and had a tuna melt with fries and a coke....plus a refill! Felt like crap the rest of the day. Didn't stop me from having more than one brownie when I got home from work. All because of the numbers on the scale.   I am an obsessive weigher. I weigh myself in the morning. I weigh myself when I get home from work to see if I lost any weight throughout the day.  I weigh myself before bed in an attempt to determine how much I might weigh again in the morning, often disappointed when I was too generous with my prediction. I think I need an intervention!

  • Happy & Motivated

Hello Fellow Clean Eaters :) I wanted to get on here and say that I'm a happy girl this morning!  The reason for this is the fact that clean eating has been going strong and I have been consistent in saying "no thank you!" to myself on cravings!  We cook mostly from home but when I slink by the baked goods section in the co-op or the ice cream in the frozen section - I remind myself what I am doing and why I want this for myself.  I don't want to sabotage my efforts for what?  A sugar high that makes me feel like crap afterwards not to mention guilty!  And I should be able to say no because honestly food shouldn't have that type of power over me!  I'm usually pretty good with avoiding sugar but I have noticed with the birth of my sweet daughter, breastfeeding, and hormonal fluxes that I really really get a wave sometimes of cravings.  There are 2 that are particularly strong that sometimes stick in my head all day long  Top 2 Cravings: (1) Ice Cream & non-dairy coconut ice cream (2) chocolate! What are your top cravings?  I still haven't yet entered the contest yet but that is because I took my measurements and lost them!  Now I need to get them again ... I'm excited about this and I cannot tell you all enough how much it helps coming on here every single day so THANK YOU for all of your posts, recipes, ideas, thoughts!  I appreciate it so much!  And I love the food tracker as I have been able to be much more consistent it's been great.  I used to write everything down but this has been so much easier paper free!  I feel a ton better but I can really tell if I don't consume food every few hours as wow I am hungry!  Fueling the fire I guess!  My tummy is even looking flatter!  At any rate I wish you all nothing but success in your goals!!    Keep saying No to your cravings! Danniel
