Finally a little R & R time has arrived. I'll be spending 10 days with my family in Jamaica. This will be my first time visiting the island. Sun & sand are calling my name. I won't be ditching my workouts, though. I have every intention of keeping up with my tri training plan with early morning beach runs and laps in the pool. If I'm lucky there will be a bike in the gym so I can keep up with that, too. I'll keep you all posted of my routine while I'm there. Every once in awhile it's good to take some time off from the gym, but I've been off of my routine since the Arnold. It's time to get back on track, and vacation is the perfect opportunity! I can't wait to try out some delicious tropical fruits, too. Any Jamaican recommendations?

I have been committed to working out since before the birth of my 3rd child 3 1/2 years ago. Although I worked out consistently, even utilizing a trainer 2 days/week, my body never really seemed to show any significant changes. Last year, with the motivation of my trainer's 100 day challenge and my quickly approaching 40th bday, I committed to getting fit by exercising and eating clean. I had all of Tosca's books, I just needed to utilize them. So for 100 + days, I ate CLEANER and exercised A LOT. Note that I am a competitive tennis player as well and would play tennis 4-6 days/week. By my 40th bday, I HAD significant body changes and was so proud of myself. Although I still wasn't comfortable wearing a bikini, I felt great.
With the 40th bday, came summer time parties, lots of food and lots of drinking (wine, mojitos, beer). I was still training, in fact, 3 days/week between 7am-1pm I would burn between 1000-1400 calories between working out and (2) 1 1/2 hour sessions of tennis. Needless to say, my caloric intake suffered as there was no time to eat when I had to cram so much into 6 hours (babysitter time is precious). Needless to say, I burned myself out that by the time August came and tennis slowed, so did the workouts. I felt guilty about not spending quality time with the kids and too much time on myself.
So fast forward, through my father-in-law's death, holidays, kids' active schedules, and here I am feeling depressed and unfit. Not to mention that I had a serious fall 4 weeks ago which took me off the courts and into surgery. Knowing that swimsuit season is quickly approaching, Spring Break is 2 weeks away, I realize my dream of feeling comfortable in a bikini is even further away. Since I cannot place any weight on my right leg and my life has come to a standstill, what better time than now to start and commit to a Eat Clean lifestyle. For one entire day, I have sat and written menu plans for 2 weeks to jump start my diet. I realize that eating clean is going to be the most important thing I can do for the next 6-8 weeks. I hope to get pictures posted on the site soon. Most importantly, I need motivation and support to keep pushing toward my dream to feel AND look great in my body!
I love all the menu plans posted here and will use some successful members journeys as my guideline and inspiration. Most of all, I love how all the members work to motivate one another. I'm glad I joined.

Hi Everyone,
So I am going home for spring break today and I am feeling a little nervous about this coming week. I just don't want to get off track and out of my routine. I know that when I am hanging out with old friends there is going to be lots of unclean food around to tempt me. My mom bakes cookies sometimes and when I say I'll have just one it turns into four, I feel so mad at myself afterwards for giving in! But there are two positives: 1) I ordered the Recharged Eat Clean Diet Book a few days ago and it should be delivered to my house while I am on break, I want to become 100% clean again (I'll probably read it in a day!) and 2) My Mom, Dad, and sister have been telling me about how healthfully they've been cooking and eating lately. So, we should all be able to help each other stay on track. As a family we all eat pretty well but we all have a sweet tooth that my mom finds impossible to deny, making it a little harder for everyone else. My sister has similar goals to me so we can stick together, and we plan on doing some spin classes at our gym, I can't wait! I know I can push past the temptations and make it a great week seeing family and friends at home. If anyone has any ideas or tips for staying on track let me know!
Thanks!
